I made this design for my own enjoyment, but many people have been interested in having one, my
goal was to replace the
existing Spectrum+ keyboard with something more reliable and modern and also to further my own
skills.
Essentially it is a reimplementation of the ingenious master level of cost reducing 3 layer
membrane as used on the original the spectrum+, but in PCB form. It uses Cherry
MX switches (5-pin) and you can use Spectrum+ keys as they will press on to these quite firmly
or you can add your own cherry keys. My own personal version connects to my Harlequin, I have
replaced the membrane receptacles with Pin headers and used ribbon cables to connect the
keyboard to the board. Feel free to experiment with your own solutions.
